Last week of July!? Here we are:) Hope you are all enjoying this hot summer weather!
We spent some time this week catching up on some much needed weeding in the garden and scoping things to see how they are bouncing back from the flood earlier in the spring. We have TONS of spaghetti squash that should actually be ready in a couple of weeks. Fortunately, a decent amount of what we thought we lost due to disease is bouncing back at the Hudsonville farm, but raccoons have really done a number on things. We, unfortunately lost this entire crop of sweet corn:/ I planted it in 3 increments so the second hasn´t tassled yet…so hopefully with the acres and acres of other corn around our sweet corn, it will slow them down now that all of the field corn has gone to tassle as well. Fingers crossed.
Deer are loving our Middleville location…especially one variety of eggplant. It´s crazy! They have quite the picky preference. Tomatoes are looking great …should have an overabundance next week!
What can you plan on for this week?
Possibly some radishes
Green Beans or Peas
Cabbage for full shares
