This Week, July 20

And here we are….nearing the end of July ! Crazytown. I wanted to take a minute to thank you all for a fun season so far. It´s been a season of growth and challenges for the business and me as a grower, and I appreciate all of you so. We wouldn´t be here without you!

A couple of things…..

Second installment of payment for those of you who only paid half at the beginning of the season is due August 10. If you owe half of your 1/2 share amount, it´s $125, and if you owe 1/2 of your full share amount, it´s $200. You may pay in cash or check (made out to The Farmers Wife CSA), or pay again on our  WEBSITE using PayPal. Thank so much!

RECIPES!  I didn´t add any last week, and am excited to share 2 tried and true, taste-tested recipes from others this week. 2 fun ways to use up that zucchini this week:)

These Sesame Zoodles are SO super easy...can be whipped up in minutes and are low carb! Perfect for lunch or a light dinner!:

submitted by: Sarah Hoezee….our baker at Family Time Bakery:)
I T soy sauce (low sodium pref)
1 1/2 t rice vinegar

1 t sesame oil
half a packet of natural no-cal sweetener
1/4 t crushed garlic
1/4 t ground ginger
10 oz zucchini

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, powdered peanut butter, sesame oil, sweetener, garlic, and ginger.  Whisk until combined.
Using a spiral vegetable slicer, cut zucchini into spaghetti like noodles.  Roughly chop for shorter noodles.
Place zucchini noodles in a medium bowl.  Add sauce, and toss to coat.  Cover and refridgerate until chilled, at least 15 minutes.
Give a stir and top with scallions and sesame seeds.

One last thing…. I have a baby shower for my sister in law on Wednesday evening that I am hoping to make….therefore I will be leaving the farm a bit early.
