Welcome Spring!..& some exciting news..

Happy Saturday, all! Whether it feels like it or not, spring seems to be in full swing here for us. It´s shipping season in the greenhouse, and I´ve been busy in getting a few of our seedlings started as well. Broccoli and basil are already starting to sprout, with peppers not too far behind. This time of year is so exciting for me, as the days get longer and the ¨solar energy¨ fills my bucket after a pretty cloudy February.

It´s also an exciting time for the CSA as we are excited to announce that we will be partnering with Sarah Hoezee, owner of Family Time Bakery, to help make The Farmers Wife CSA your ¨one stop shop¨ for food for your family. Sarah lives in Hudsonville with her husband and three kids. She is a stay at home mom that is passionate about healthy living and clean food, while bringing  joy to the lives of her friends and family with home baked goodies. You may have seen her at the Hudsonville Farmers Market selling her treats, but now you will be able to place a weekly order as you need it,  and pick it up with your share. Her menu is amazing and includes gluten free items as well. Stay tuned for an example of the weekly order from will look like, but until then, please check Sarah out on her Facebook Page

In other exciting news….our family has grown!! We welcomed 15 new chickens into our family that will help with egg production needed for the CSA towards the end of the summer. We are so excited to be able to offer farm fresh, free range eggs to you guys….and to have a little hobby for the kids as well. We´re pretty smitten.

Last but not least, the pick up location has finally been narrowed down for the year! As mentioned, our ground needed a break at the previous garden spot, so we decided to move in order to rebuild to soil, and start somewhere fresh. The pick up will be at 3655 56th Avenue in Hudsonville. It has a great, shaded location and we have purchased a cooler to help with those hot pick up days. A big shout out goes to our parents for letting us use their space to grow produce this year.

Well friends…that´s about it! I don´t know about you, but I’m pretty excited for all of the goodness to come. Have a blessed weekend!
