Thank You!

Wow! What a difference a couple of days makes….from warm and sunny on Tuesday to extreme downpour on Thursday…thanks Michigan for keeping us on our toes.

Thank you all for a successful first week of share pick ups! I hope you are all happy with the produce you received. The first few weeks are full of excitement and anticipation, but there’s always a fear that there won’t be a ton to offer as we are still approaching the more seasonal ¨harvest.¨ If you haven’t like The Farmers Wife CSA on Facebook yet, please do so! There have been many of you sharing your recipes on how you’ve been using your veggies….and I love it! What a great way to share with others how we can fit more of this farm fresh produce into our diets. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Welp….as some of you plan on your grocery lists for next week, I wanted to give you a heads up of what you may expect:

Some Kale (cleaning up the first crop), Romaine Lettuce, Sugar Snap Peas, Cucumbers, Green Beans, Collards, Some Spinach (if the weather stays cool), Basil

I picked some Romaine before heading home, because of course, you have to taste test it to make sure it’s ready….and lets be honest…I haven’t made it to the grocery store this week.

Since life has been a little busy with us moving next week and all, I’ve been having to make some quick and easy meals. Here is my favorite concoction of the week!

Coconut milk (canned )
Almond milk … I use a little of each until Desired consistency
Frozen pineapple
A little bit of unsweetened coconut
Basil leaves
Blend it up and enjoy !
(sorry, I don’t measure things exactly very often:)

I had a great time chatting with you all this week! See you next Tuesday and Thursday:)
